European
figure skating champion Yevgeny Plushenko said he is feeling fine after the
knee surgery in Germany on Thursday.
Plushenko
win his seventh European men’s title in Sheffield, England last month in his
first international competition since the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Before that,
he used painkiller injection on his troublesome knee during the competition.
On coming
2014 Sochi Games, Plushenko will undergo surgery to sort out his knee issues
before resuming the training.
Last month
he told the reporters that: “Doctors will have to repair a cartilage and clean
up the meniscus in my knee.”
The 2006 Turin Champion, who also has two
Olympic silver medals from the 2002 and 2010 games, will miss next month’s
world championships Nice, France.
