Date of Birth : March 9, 1989

Position : Leader, Main Vocalist

  Taeyeon was born in Jeonju, North Jeolla, South Korea. She is trained in singing   

  and dancing. Taeyeon was discovered in the 2004 SM Entertainment’s 8^th  

  Annual Best Contest winning Best Singer 1^st place and Grand Award in the 

  contest.

Jessica

Birth Name : Jung Su Yeon

Date of Birth : April 18, 1989

Position : Main Vocalist

     Jessica was born and raised in San Francisco, California and is fluent in English. She moved to Korea when she was 11 for training under SM Entertainment.

  

Sunny

Birth Name : Lee Sunkyu

Date of Birth : May 15, 1989

Position : Main Vocalist

Sunny was born in the United States, when she was still an infant, she moved to Kuwait and then to South Korea during Gulf War. She was a trainee under a different company before she transferred into SM Entertainment.

 

Tiffany

Birth Name : Stephanie Hwang Miyoung

Date of Birth : August 1, 1989

Position : Lead Vocalist

Tiffany was born in San Francisco but raised in Diamond Bar, California and is fluent in English. She was discovered in the SM Starlight Casting System 2004 in Loa Angeles.

 

Hyoyeon

Birth Name : Kim Hyoyeon

Date of Birth : September 22, 1989

Position : Main Dancer

Hyoyeon was born in Incheon, South Korea. She attended a hip hop dance school that specializes in waving, popping, lacking and animation. She is one of the main dancer in Girl’s Generation.

 

Yuri

Birth Name : Kwon Yuri

Date of Birth : December 5, 1989

Position : Lead Dancer

Yuri was born in Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea. She joined SM Entertainment when she took 1^st place in the 2001 1^st SM Youth Best Dancer Contest.

 

Sooyoung

Birth Name : Choi Soo Young

Date Of Birth : Febuary 10, 1989

Position : Lead Dancer

Sooyoung was born in Seoul, South Korea. Before Sooyoung audition to Girl’s Generation, she made a brief debut in Japan as a singer in the group called Route. She first debuted with Marina Takasho with song “Start”.

Yoona

Birth Name : Im Yoo Ah

Date of Birth : May 30, 1990

Position : Lead Dancer

Yoona was born in Seoul, South Korea. She is the first trainee revealed to be a member of Girl’s Generation. Yoona began to film commercials and model for various magazines when she was a trainee.

 

Seohyun

Birth Name : Seo Joohyun

Date Of Birth : June 28, 1991

Position : Lead Vocalist

Seohyun was born in Seoul, South Korea. She is the youngest member of Girl’s Generation. Seohyun is also a pianist.
