Ways to Stop Smoking
For smokers, to stop
smoking is really a tough action to take. Majority of smokers wants to quit
smoking but find it difficult to do so as nicotine is very addictive.
There are 2
factors that will determine your success in quiting smoking for your health
which is will – the desire to give up the habit of smoking, and your mindset –
learn and understand the consequences to stop smoking and maintain the smoking
plan.

S- Set a quit date
Determine the day you will start to quit. That can be tomorrow, but you
can also wait for a more favourable moment.
T- Tell people around you
Tell your
family, friends, co-workers or possibly anyone that you are going to quit
smoking.
A- Anticipate and plan for challengers
Quitting would
not be easy. Anticipate for the challenges that you will face. Prepare a list
of things to do when a craving hits. Examples, take a walk, chew a piece of
chewing gum, brush your teeth and etc.
R- Remove cigarettes and other tobacco products from your surrounding
Take away
everything that reminds you of smoking. Stop buying cartons of cigarettes.
Instead only carry two or three with you and slowly wean you down you fewer
cigarettes.
T- Tell your doctor
about getting help to quit
Your doctor
can help you quit smoking by giving stop smoking aids such as nicotine nasal
sprays, nicotine gum and stop smoking pills.
If you fall
back, don't give up. Find out the reason and the way to solve it in the future.
If you manage to come through the same situation next time, you have become
stronger. Do not give up, the beginning is always the hardest.
